It combines pen and brown and gray ink, watercolor and black chalk.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eA path beneath the trees\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA curving path climbs from the foreground towards an isolated house. Two large trunks structure the view: one crosses the composition diagonally and the other spreads its branches above the building. Banks, rocks, roots and foliage frame a pale opening at left.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eLine, wash and attribution\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePen lines define bark and branches, while brown, gray and blue-green washes suggest relief, depth and light.
