Discover the story behind this artwork
A forgotten Norman advertisement signed Dior... but not the one you think!
Long before the famous couturier, the Société Anonyme des Usines Dior was already making the name Dior shine throughout France. This 1933 advertising poster, with a strong Art Deco style, praised the quality of its agricultural and household products: fertilizers for the fields, laundry detergents for clothes.
A rural illustration and a strong message
A couple of farmers proud of their land and their clean laundry illustrates the slogan:
"The best fertilizer – The best laundry detergent"
Around them, an impressive list of distributors in France gives an overview of the brand's commercial reach at the time.
