Where the right of withdrawal applies, contact us within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping is paid by the customer and the item must be sent to the European address provided by our customer service team. Damaged, defective or incorrect items are handled at our expense.

About Carina

Painted by John William Godward in 1910, Carina is an oil on canvas measuring 49.5 × 38.9 cm. It is signed “J. W. GODWARD” and dated 1910 at upper left. The reverse bears the title, the artist’s name, Rome and the date.

Portrait and setting

The tightly framed composition shows a young woman facing the viewer against pale veined marble. Her dark hair is pinned up. Her pale blue tunic is fastened with round ornaments and edged with green bands carrying a Greek-key pattern.
