Thomas Malton the Younger, master of urban landscape
British painter and engraver of the 18th century, Thomas Malton the Younger, distinguished himself with precise architectural perspectives and a keen sense of composition. Influenced by the topographical tradition and the growing interest in urban planning, he documented buildings and squares with near-cartographic rigor, while maintaining a poetry of light. His works are appreciated for the clarity of line and the truth of volumes, qualities that make this art print particularly faithful to the spirit of the original. This piece thus evokes not only a place but also an era and a way of seeing the city.
