Discover the story behind this artwork
In Horses resting in a meadow near Bolsover Castle, Peter DeWint presents a restrained rural scene. This reproduction shows several dark horses settled in a pale meadow, close to a small area of water that quietly anchors the foreground.
In the distance, the castle appears on higher ground, adding a subtle landmark to the landscape. Beige, brown and grey tones shape the view, supported by soft light. The composition remains calm, with the animals gathered in a restful arrangement.
The image can bring a peaceful note to a living room, bedroom or study. Its neutral palette works easily with understated interiors, natural decorative elements and warm rooms where a gentle countryside mood is preferred without visual excess.
