Apollo launching the arrows of the plague: An invitation to emotion
The art print of Apollo launching the arrows of the plague captures the moment when the divine gesture transforms the landscape into a dramatic scene. Alexander Rothaug composes with plastic power: tense figures, diagonals of the arrows, and a charged sky responding to ochre and ash tones. The sculptural light highlights Apollo's muscles, while cooler touches isolate the tragedy unfolding on the ground, creating a striking emotional contrast. Looking at this Apollo launching the arrows of the plague art print, one feels the urgency of movement and the solemnity of the myth; the technique, sometimes raw, conveys an almost cinematic depth that captivates the eye.
Alexander Rothaug, master of contemporary drama
Alexander Rothaug belongs to a line of contemporary artists fascinated by reinterpreted mythology; his work draws from both academic realism and a modern sensitivity that reimagines classical themes. Influenced by great pictorial narrators, Rothaug has gained a reputation for his vigorous compositions and his taste for scenes with strong emotional intensity. This art print testifies to his staging mastery: rigorous construction, studied palette, and expressive treatment of the bodies. Upon discovering the piece, one perceives the historical references but also the boldness of Rothaug's unique language, which renews the myth with power and clarity.
